Chapter 5.2 - An Unexpected and Tragic Game Changer

It seemed like life was looking up for Winford and Lidia with their recent graduation, their arrival into adulthood and reign over the house to pursuit their wishacy journeys.

One of the first things Lidia wanted to do was explore one of her new interests and skills, sculpting, to maybe one day become a renaissance sim. Her natural savvy sculptor prowess was already starting to show!

Winford and Lidia also felt that the best was for them to advance their lives and careers was to attend university, so both Winford and Lidia were quick to fill in their application forms for university. Winford wanted to pursuit the technology path while Lidia ventured towards the arts.

Once the applications were filled in and they were accepted into university, it was time to leave. Winford was very dramatic when saying goodbye to his robot Disco. It was very emotional for him to leave his first creation and friend behind. He was so nervous about leaving the familiar surroundings of home to venture into University life.

Finally Winford and Lidia arrived at the dorm apartments. They were filled with excitement and nerves as they approached the new place they would be living at during their study.

I can hardly believe how handsome and pretty Winford and Lidia are. As they look around their new lodgings and seek to make friends with their housemates, I look forward to seeing how university life will treat them.

It didn't take long for Winford and Lidia to meet a great circle of new potential friends in their dormitory. Winford and Lida are beginning to settle in quite well here!

After greeting their fellow housemates, Winford and Lidia headed into the university for the open day where they snatched a few freebies before heading upstairs. Lidia and Winford both had the wish to get a free soda can from the vending machine. Little did they know the tragic events that would take place from such a simple wish.

Lidia decided to take the 'shake' approach in an attempt to get a free soda can, however Winford was more adventurous and decided to 'push' the vending machine. Winford heaved his shoulder into the vending machine, and before he had a chance to react, the vending machine fell on top of him!

People from around the university building rushed over in a panic as the vending machine was pulled off Winford's curled up and damaged body. Lidia can hardly comprehend the gravity of the situation until suddenly she saw him...the grim reaper...

Immediately Lidia bursts out into tears as she knows that the grim reaper, the bringer of death, has come for her beloved brother.

Winford's body dissipates away into a red misty ghost as the grim reaper's dark cloud draws closer to him.

Winford stands up in spirit form, not fully understanding the situation he is suddenly faced with as the grim reaper looms over him menacingly.

Winford turns to see the grim reaper as well as the shocked and scared faces of those around him, and the look of anguish and pain in the eyes of his sister. He has no choice but to beg the Grim Reaper for his life back. He is only young and he has so much more to live for and to look forward to in life.

Unfortunately the grim reaper was not feeling empathetic towards Winford's plight as he absorbed Winford into the spirit world, abandoning his life and all of his hopes and dreams along with it, and ultimately leaving Lidia all alone in grief.

I was extremely tempted to revert to a previous save here but to be true to the wishacy and the natural progression of the story, I reluctantly pushed on with this very sad and tragic outcome.

As Lidia wallowed in her grief, the grim reaper walked up to the very vending machine that squashed her brother to death and put his hand right through it to grab a can of soda.

He then proceeded to tip the can of drink all over the floor! The grim reaper is so patronising and cruel in showing off the 'free can of soda' outcome that Winford tried to gain and ultimately caused his death. I don't think Lidia will ever be able to look at a vending machine the same way again.

The sudden and horrendous death of Winford has thrown Lidia into a constant state of distress as well as throwing the whole two heir wishacy out of whack. Lidia just could not go on at University without her brother and fellow heir so she pulled out of University and came back home. There is only one way this hole can be filled but Lidia feels she must tell her mother about her son's death first.

It took a while for her to track down her mother until she was suddenly invited to her aunty Jasmine's party. Jasmine had really upgraded her house significantly since we had last visited her.

As Lidia walked into the party, everyone was having such a good time. She could see her mother and her new husband Justin dancing happily and enjoying life.

Lidia just could not bare to tell her mother such horrible and tragic news while she seemed so happy. Rather than break the news, she decided to do what needed to be done herself to ensure the two heir wishacy would continue on as expected.

Lidia went back home and called her young step brother Kurt over to visit. This was going to be hard for him to hear and a lot to take in but she hoped he would be strong enough to do what needed to be done.

I'm so sorry Kurt, this is going to be hard for your to hear, but our brother Winford has tragically died, and because of his sudden and untimely death, our family needs you to become the second heir along side me to fulfil the two heir wishacy.

All of this was so overwhelming for Kurt and he was both saddened to hear of his brother's passing and honoured to learn that he would become an heir. To begin his role an heir, he needed to age up into an adult immediately, as long as he held the much needed 'flirty' trait.

Lidia could hardly believe her eyes as her young boy brother aged up into a handsome and noble looking young man. Kurt is a virtuoso, has perspective, is mean spirited, inappropriate and flirty. He also claimed the lifetime wish to be a heartbreaker just like his deceased brother.

Tho a new replacement heir has now come into the fold with Kurt's humble acceptance into the role, we will never forget Winford. He was taken from us far too soon and he had so much potential. With his devilish good looks and ambitious nature, he was bound to go places, but now his role is to watch over his brother and sister from the spirit world and support them in their wishacy journey's. He will be sorely missed!

What are your thoughts on the new replacement heir Kurt? Will Lidia ever get over the traumatic death of her brother? How will the family and wishacy go on after this tragic loss of life? Find out in the next chapter.

  1. OMG....RIP Winford!

That was completely unexpected...I feel sad! It's good that Kurt was willing to take his place as the second heir but man we didn't even get to see Winford enjoy his adult life at all! I think I'm in shock...lol
