Chapter 8.2 - Love and Rejection

Kurt and Lidia are settling back into normal life again and Kurt has finally decided to get a job. He is now a playground monitor at the local school and hopes to move up the ranks and become a teacher.

Working at the school pays the bills but his true love and passion is music. He just loves playing his guitar every chance he gets.

Kurt has also been trying to socialise around town but so far his conversations have been falling flat. He never seems interested in listening to other's conversations and spends most of his time complaining.

Meanwhile Lidia has been working hard on her sculpting skill and job. She has been getting much better and has been producing some great and unique work!

She has been making good money selling her wooden sculptures directly and she has some old clay sculptures lying around which she thought she would have a go at selling at the consignment store.

When Lidia arrived at the consignment store to sell her wares, she came across Bobbie Ashton. a peach skinned, aqua haired witch! Witches are hard to come by in this town, especially ones with such a unique hair and skin colour combination. She was instantly intrigued by him and struck up a conversation.

That conversation quickly lead to a friendship. She found out that he was in a band and he has similar creative interests to her. He was the first real friend she has made in town and soon enough they were hanging out every chance they could get.

They are so close that Lidia even feels comfortable telling Jake all about her family grievances and personal dilemmas. Jake is very quickly becoming the only man she feels comfortable sharing personal details with. In fact, he is her best friend!

Finally Spring has sprung and Love day has arrived. Lidia just had to visit the spring festival in town when she came across the kissing booth. She was in a romantic mood and considered getting her first kiss from a kissing booth.

She figured why not, so she went for it. She kissed a stranger in the kissing booth. Unfortunately i was quite underwhelming for her.

As she wandered around the festival alone, she soon realised she would much prefer to spend love day with someone special, and that was Bobbie. She invited him to meet her at the festival grounds and as soon as she gazed upon him, her thoughts and feelings towards him suddenly began to grow to more than friends.

Bobbie also gazed upon Lidia with a longing glare, hardly feeling worthy of a woman as beautiful as Lidia and considered himself to be firmly in the friend zone. She was far too good for him, or so he thought.

They spend the day egg hunting around the festival grounds with a clear chemistry drawing them closer together, but so far their relationship did not venture further than friendship.

Kurt also has a special wish on Love day, to successfully flirt and kiss a woman in town on the most romantic day of the year. Unfortunately his inappropriate and mean spirited personality seemed to have an opposite effect.

Far from charming, Kurt was actually off putting. I would hardly think that insulting a woman's family prior to a pick up line would ever be a good move.

Your mother looks like a llama! Sooo can I have your number?

He did manage to pull out just enough charm to successfully flirt and woo Ivy Cagle briefly, however he could not hold back his true colours long enough to keep the positive comments and pleasantness flowing.

Later that night after a very busy day, a burglar broke into the house and managed to steal the stove and Winford's old robot building machine while Kurt and Lidia were fast asleep.

To say that Kurt was upset about the burglary would be an understatement.

While Lidia has been busy at home working away on her painting and sculpting, her mind kept wandering to Bobbie.

She could not get her thoughts off him and all of those thoughts were romantic ones, so she decided to act on them and invite Bobbie over.

Conveniently Lidia still happened to be dressed in her lingerie when Bobbie arrived. I think she certainly gave him the impression she was hoping for because they began openly flirting with each other straight away.  Bobbie could hardly believe Lidia was flirting with him!

As they kept flirting with each other, Lidia could not wait to kiss him. Her emotions were running so strong and fast in anticipation for that moment and then she finally did it. Lidia and Bobbie kissed and they instantly fell in love. Lidia only wished that she had not given her first kiss away to that kissing booth and that she had saved her first kiss for her first love instead.

While Lidia's finding new love with Bobbie, Kurt is desperately alone, trying to make friends in town. Instead he sings sad ballads in a karaoke bar by himself, wondering if he will ever find someone to love and care for.

You may have noticed that Disco is not in this chapter. I decided to move her out of the house so all focus will be on our two heirs. Hopefully Disco will find happiness out there somewhere.

Will the love between Lidia and Jake grow? Will Kurt ever make friends and find love? Lets wait and see.
